Using Earth observation to monitor changes in water quality in Australian water bodies

  • University of Queensland Saint Lucia, QLD, 4072 Australia (map)

An Earth Observation for Government Network (EOGN) online workshop

The workshop
This workshop will facilitate an open discussion on the current status and future directions of research activities, available Earth observation products and their application, and user needs relating to water quality. This will be undertaken with a view to building a shared understanding of the EO water quality landscape.

We encourage the EO community to share ideas for planning and building capability. This information will be used to update the Australian Earth Observation Capability Database which will be made publicly available.

Who can participate?
Anyone with an interest in developing or using EO products or services for measuring inland and coastal water quality is welcome to participate in this workshop. No registration is required.

Background

Earth Observation Australia Inc. in collaboration with Geoscience Australia is working to support the transition of Earth observation activities to validated, continental-wide products that meet end user’s needs and are available 24/7. This is happening through Earth Observation for Government Network (EOGN).

EOGN is a targeted collaboration and priority setting network. It connects users of Earth observation data and its derived products to researchers and government developers/providers. Its aim is to ensure that the products and services developed are fit-for-purpose and relevant.

Your input

To gather input from the Earth observation community on research activities and end user experiences we invite you to complete a short questionnaire. Workshop participants as well as those unable to participate in the workshop are encouraged to provide their input.
